Amano Shrimp

Amano shrimp, also known as Caridina multidentata or Yamato shrimp, is a popular freshwater shrimp species in the aquarium hobby. They are native to Japan and are valued for their ability to consume algae and help keep aquariums clean. Amano shrimp have a transparent body with distinct brown or green markings and grow to about 2 inches (5 centimeters) in length. They are generally peaceful and can be kept with other peaceful fish species. Amano shrimp prefer well-established aquariums with plenty of hiding places, and they thrive in water conditions with neutral pH and moderate hardness. Feeding them a varied diet that includes algae-based foods is important for their overall health and well-being.
